Schaeffer Electric Co. Doubling Number of Fire Alarms
at Friendship Village of South County in Sunset Hills, Mo.
ST. LOUIS Ð St. Louis-based Schaeffer Electric Co., Inc. is nearing completion of a fire alarm system expansion at the Friendship Village of South County senior living community in Sunset Hills, Mo. The firm is teaming with Tech Electronics, Inc. of St. Louis to complete the 11-month project in December 2009.
The project more than doubles the number of fire alarm devices monitoring the space. Several independent fire panels are being replaced with a network system encompassing three main panels and seven remote annunciation stations. SchaefferÕs data and communications team is installing more than 3,700 devices, requiring more than 200,000 feet of communication cable. All work is taking place while the existing fire alarm system remains active.
Once installed, Tech Electronics will program the new system. The new detection devices identify exact locations so fire personnel can pinpoint the location of any fire incident.
